Two people shaking hands.

At our Waco dental practice, we always want the best for our associates, past and present. Jessica Furr, one of our hard-working associates, has decided to move back to Keen, TX. However, she won’t be going alone. She’ll be taking care of her newborn boy, which is very exciting! For the past four years she gave us her dental expertise, and we thank her for the care and knowledge she provided patients.

Taking her place is Dr. DJ Andreasen! We hope you take the opportunity to get to know him a bit better before your visit.

Dr. Andreasen’s Background and Education

Dr. Andreasen was born in St. Louis, MO. He spent much of his young life growing up in the suburbs of Chicago. After graduating from the University of Kentucky with a bachelor’s degree in Biology and minoring in Psychology, he moved back to St. Louis. Here, he pursued a career as a dental technician at Dental Arts Laboratories and specialized in CAD/CAM technology. This stands for Computer Assisted Design/Manufacture.

Eventually, he decided to attend Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, CA. During his time at school, he helped underserved communities get the dental care they needed. After graduating, he joined our practice and we couldn’t be happier to have his expertise!

He’s also joined multiple dental organizations to help him stay updated on the latest techniques and treatments. These include the:

  • American Dental Association
  • Texas Dental Association
  • Central Texas Dental Society
  • California Dental Association

His Technological Background

While pursuing his education, Dr. Andreasen completed training to become an Invisalign provider! With this background, he’s capable of helping patients straighten their teeth and improve their overall health through clear aligners.

During his time as a dental technician, he learned how to operate multiple CAD/CAM technologies, including CEREC, E4D, 3shape, and ExoCAD. With this knowledge, he’s equipped to provide patients better restorations, whether they’re needed for dental implants or for protecting natural teeth.

Your Dentist’s Life Outside of Dentistry

Dr. Andreasen is always committed to providing excellent care in an environment that is comfortable for patients of all backgrounds. While he enjoys new challenges of bringing comprehensive dental care to Waco, he enjoys relaxing with his wife Claire and two dogs, Lily and Boone in Waco.

When he’s not in the office, you can catch him on the golf course, hiking with his family, and cheering on his favorite sports team, the Kentucky Wildcats.

We can’t wait for you to meet your new dentist at our Waco dental practice! Schedule an appointment with him today to get your checkup and cleaning done!
